LinzNext is a real-time transit departure app for public transportation in Linz, Austria. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect (and don't collect) and how we protect your information.
The good news: LinzNext collects virtually no personal data. Your location is used only locally on your device and is never stored or transmitted to our servers.

3. What Data We Collect and Why
3.1 Location Data
LinzNext uses your GPS location to find nearby transit stops and display departure information.
- Processing: Local processing only on your device
- Storage: Not stored. Data is used only for the current session
- Transmission: Your exact location is not sent to us or external servers
- API Requests: Only generic requests to the Linz AG EFA API, without location identifiers
3.2 In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
LinzNext uses RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions and purchases.
- Processing: RevenueCat processes purchase data anonymously
- Data: RevenueCat receives information such as purchase history and subscription status
- Your Control: You can manage subscriptions through your app store account

3.3 What We Do NOT Collect
- No user accounts or registration required
- No analytics or tracking (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase)
- No advertising or ad IDs
- No app usage statistics
- No personally identifiable information (names, email, etc.)
- No crash reports containing personal data
- No access to contacts, calendar, or other private data

4.1 Linz AG EFA API
LinzNext retrieves real-time departure data from the public Linz AG EFA API.
- Data: Transit stops, route information, real-time updates
- API Key: Not required (public API)
- Your Data: Your location is not sent to the Linz AG API

4.2 RevenueCat
For premium features and subscriptions.
RevenueCat may collect aggregated usage data to provide services. Learn more in their privacy policy.
5. Data Storage and Retention
- Local Storage: Minimal settings are stored locally on your device (e.g., favorite stops)
- No Server Storage: We do not store user data on servers
- Location Data: Not stored or transmitted
- RevenueCat: Purchase data is stored according to RevenueCat policies
6. Your Rights
As a user in Austria/the EU, you have the following rights under GDPR:
- Right to Access: You can request what data we hold about you
- Right to Deletion: You can request deletion of your data
- Right to Data Portability: You can receive your data in machine-readable format

Geographic Location: The app can be used from anywhere, but:
- Your location is not transferred internationally
- API requests go to Linz AG servers (Austria)
- RevenueCat may process data in the United States
